Request for Assistance Guidelines

To qualify for the Dedham Food Pantry you must: a) be a Dedham resident, and b) meet the Pantry’s income guidelines (see below).

Please note:

  • All persons who live in the same housing unit are considered one (1) household even if they are not related.
  • The Pantry’s income guidelines below are based on the total income of all persons in your household from all income sources
  • Count only the current income of household members, not what they may have made in the past or what they expect to make in the future. However, if your income increases to the point where you are no longer eligible for assistance please let us know.
  • The Pantry does not consider the amount of your bank accounts or other assets. If you have significant assets but a limited income, please consider whether it is appropriate for you to use the Food Pantry.

In addition, households that participate in the following means tested programs are also TEFAP eligible: Food Stamps/SNAP, TANF, WIC, Welfare, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, Head Start, Fuel Assistance or Veteran’s Aid.

Please apply in person between 9am -10:30am on Saturdays

NOTE:  Please bring the following documents to your initial interview:

  • Proof of residency– Bring one of the following: Rent receipt, utility bill (gas, cable, phone or electric) or a current rental lease agreement, piece of mail, bank statement or a driver’s license
  • Proof of Income– Weekly pay stub, unemployment award letter, or social security/disability statements
  • Other documentations– Proof that you are enrolled in a government program such as Mass Health, SNAP, etc.
